hey people, havnt posted on here for a while as i havnt really been doing anything with my corsa since i bought my astra in feb, but i have bought a corsa rally shell, fully seam/stiched welded, with a weld-in roll cage and its a brand spanking new shell, not yet been registered!! so the old corsa has now been stripped bare ready to swap all the parts over!! i shall post up some pics of the new shell over the next few days if anyone is interested.

Age of the components matters for registration as well so if you want it on a 56 you would need your major components, ie. engine, box, diff, rack brand new also.

Either way, I'll be watching this project with interest!

wel i dont think it wil be on a 56 plate! but the diff will be brand new aswell as a brand new quick rack etc

apparently not no, im not really sure how it all works, but il basically be giving the new shell my old shells identity, otherwise it will be on a Q plate which is alot more paperwork so ive been told

You can apply for the new shell to be registered and it will be put on a plate for its year.

It only gets a Q if the year can't be established.

lancashire area, and it wasnt too bad considering the work that will hav gone into the shell, and its coming with kevlar doors, boot, bonnet and brand new compomotive wheels!!

I have a stripped shell in my garge, just hasn't got all the lightweight stuff attatched to it

How much did it cost? (If you dont mind me asking)

yeh thats the one, it doesnt have the engine or the suspension though. He has already sold the engine for 3700quid! and i couldnt afford the suspension with it unfortunately.

it could be a Q plate if i wanted it to, but yes the new shell has a chassis number already so what the guy told me to do is cut out the chassis number off my old shell and rivit it next to the chassis number on the new shell and also fit on the old shells VIN plate etc and then its sorted near enough. Il just use my old cars reg plates on it

So its not really a new shell then as its already been stamped with a chassis number? Did you not get a V5 with it?
