Is this the most fucking pointless ritual ever, a guy at work is fasting and he has to get up at stupid hours like 4am just to miss the light so he can eat something, then cant eat until 8pm at night
I was talking to him about it yesterday and your not even ment to swallow your own spit unless you can help it 
Big respect though he sat there whilst i ate a maccies in front of him  more self restraint than me!
Another pointless thing is the fact they cant eat meat unless its had a prayer said to it this meat is more expensive so i can see butchers selling this meat making more money when its just ordinary meat that has had no prayer said to it

you have the meat thing half right it has to be butchered halal style which is basically one of the cruelest forms of killing an animal(slit the throat and let it bleed to death)

When I worked in a chip shop they would be funny over what meats were cooked together. They used to come in and be right pricks about it. If you dont like it then fuck off somewhere else!

I'm sorry, but how is killing an animal with a knife crueler than with a gun/electric shock?
it still dies.
its an animal, 90% fo the time, its bred for meat...

because the animal dies slowly compared to instantly
also the meat taste's better when it dies instantly
no stiffening of the muscles and no lactic acid = yummy meat

The animal has it's neck slit and it bleeds to death. When an animal is electracuted it dies in under a second. Think about it.

no they are bred for killing but imo it must be done quickly why make something suffer if it doesnt have too?
also my point on the tenderness of the meat is the best excuse to get it done quickly
