Probably the VR6, doesn't the 1.8T have a load of sensors to deal with?

for the VR6 you need the mk3 subframe, and a few other bits iirc

on the 1.8t you need a diffrent box mount, o2a box with a strange cluthc flywheel set up

merc sprinter intercooler

some playing around with the loom

erm................

1.8T will be lighter, faster, and probably easier to get in.

VR will be er, and ace with a charger.

or, you could get an early Audi 1.8 20V, and a G60 charger, and combine them

2.0 8v or 16v out of a mk3 gti is definately most bang for buck. can be picked up for pennies and very easy to fit. 1.8t is quite a lot of work, the lump alone still cost £800+

How about the 2.0 16v from the mk3? Supposedly only 150 made, plenty of 136bhp ones though..

well, VR is either 174 or 190 bhp, depending on the car it comes from.

Turbo is likely to be 150bhp.

personally, i'd take the extra time to do the turbo though, and build it to 225 spec.

find a stacked Titty then.

fairly easy to get 180-200 bhp from a 150 spec engine though

156bhp but easily tuneable to over 200 for less than £500, price of a remap.
