As you may be aware it was Yorkshire Air Ambulance who airlifted Richard Hammond to hospital. As a result Pistonheads.com have set up an appeal for donations.

This is getting fucking ridiculous They saved one TV presenter and suddenly everybody thinks they are the most deserving charity in the pissin world FFS... Unbelievable... I do hope that as said YAA will not keep all the money and will split it up with other Air Ambulance services...

I have posted a link in the North West Forum for anyone wishing to donate to their local one. Thats for North West people of course.
I donated to them rather than YAA, as its more likely to help me, my family or my friends.

There's nothing worse about YAA making loads. If you're so worried about your local one, donate to them as I have to mine as well as YAA.
The end of the day it doesn't matter where you live. They all need money. Just so happens that if YAA get another aircraft they can attend 300 more incidents per year than if they don't. That in my book is worthwhile even if not particularly fair.

You may wonder why our total has suddenly dropped. Unfortunately, last weekend's £50,000 donation was declined. Shame, but the appeal is still going strong!
