i know, it was planned for weeks that hammond was goin to do the drive, and every safty aspect was taken into consideration

itv even flew a helicopter of it and said ooooo lok at the gaouge into the tarmac, and here where these skid marks are where he hit the brakes and this is where he hit the grass and over here is where he landed

ffs, knobs its a car accident, the same happens in formula 1
the world rally,
and motorsport has its risks, and itv are dramatizeing it saying its a plane engine it shud be on a plane, not a car what was he thinking blah blah blah

I must admit I have noticed the ever increasing media coverage of this. I've just seen something on news 24 going out about the airfield and how dangerous it could be because you can pick up all this speed etc, etc.... and how he isn't a qualified racing driver, so shouldn't be doing stuff like this and how he is selfish by doing the stunt because of his family, which pissed me off a tad

They had the guy who drove that JCB land speed record holding vehicle, and he was full of praise for Hammond, saying how if no one pushed the envelope, we would live in a very dull and boring world.

I personally think he's a top guy for putting his life on the line this way.

Top guy? in some peoples eyes. If i had a wife and 2 children i would consider that land speed attempt an uneccesary risk.
