I have 195/40/16 ET 42 alloys on my car, should i drop it -50mm? or would -40mm be better on spax springs?

50mm should be alright, you might have to do minimal arch work on the back

What would i need to do to the back? Take off the back arches and bond them on instead so they don't catch ?

I may just go for the -40mm ones then to be safe.
