We're going Footprint Lodges, Lake Windermere at the begining of October.
Looking for a relaxing holiday, pub lunches, walks, some shopping etc....
Any recommedations of good pubs, places to go/things to do?

I stayed just outside of Penrith in a lovely 2 story cottage which had everything you would want and more. The location gives you the oppitunity to visit all the districts, my advice is to get a proper map and work out a nice route to enjoy the countryside from the confort of your car.
Drive down to widermere, take the car ferry over the lake and then get deeper into the lovely countryside

There are loads of walks to do around here.
If you go up Gummers How, at the bottom end of the Lake near Newby Bridge you get a good view from the top of the lake and surroundings.
Or go over to Grizedale Forest and walk round one of the wooden statue walks.
For a fancy meal at night my favourite place in the area is the Lyth Valley Hotel! About 10 miles from Windermere but the food is really nice and a nice drive to it. Another good pub to try is the Mason's Arm's at Bowland Bridge. Its just over the otherside of Gummers How so again about 10 miles from Windermere...
Ambleside and Windermere have a few shops, The Apple Pie in Ambleside is one of my fave cafe's.
Kendal is better for shopping but getting into it can take hours and parking is awful and costs alot.
On the other side of the lake at Lakeside there is a wildlife place, has Otters and other animals, fish that are found in the area. Can get there by boat from Windermere. Can also go from Lakeside on a steam engined train to Haverthwaite. Theres not really anything to see at Haverthwaite but the train journey is quite nice
Loads to do, best bet is to just go to the Tourist Information Office and pick up some leaflets!

Here u go
Skiddaw, near Keswick, is one of the largest mountains in the Lake District, reaching a height of 931 metres above sea level. It is one of the oldest mountains in the Lake District and provides a variety of ascents for climbers of all levels of skill and ability. Skiddaw is the most popular of all the climbs in the Lake District.
