Even though at this time the filter is off and you all feel you have to act like 10 year olds and swear as much as you can, remember it will not be tolerated to have random swearing all over the place..

You have been warned.

Thank you for your time..

Also refer to Ians comments in the thread he needed to turn the filter off for.

I know it ain't really my place to say, but I feel I speak on behalf of a few members on here... Admin are cracking down on bull crap on the site... Ian posted a message saying it was still against rules to swear wether the filter was on or not... yet you continued to swear... and to be honest, that would be enough for me to start clicking big red buttons, but I'm not admin...

I don't tend to join in on much conversations on the site, but I know the ones I do post up tend to get ruined, things need to change... after all guys, the site is here for us, if we don't change our ways it'll be gone... or you'll be banned and the site might as well be gone in your eyes...

Before you start slating me, don't bother, it needed to be said!

now i am not one to get involved in these kind of things as i dont feel myself a petty person, but mav, may i bring to your attention a thread posted by you:

***** Was working on a system, these systems are huge and have hundreds of circuit boards in them. I had a lot of boards out to check. Had analog power off and started to put some boards back when 2 of them started to smoke. Quickly pulled the boards out but the Fire alarm went off. It is set sensitive due to the nature of the work. Whole side of the factory evacuated (on Nightshift about 70 ppl)....Linked direct to fire station and out facilites manager.
2 fire engines turn up and manager etc..
I explained to our Emergency response team and and fireman what was going on. Had to take fireman into deptartment and show him...

After that he agreed to let everybody back in..

On inspection of boards both had a couple of burnt out resistors that caused this..!!!

fook me what a going on

Thats little thing just caused the company a few thousand for the fire brigade etc...

All this at 4am...

I think Mav is trying to say that excessive and random swearing for no reason and totally out of context within whatever post it is used is what is going to be stamped out - and I agree with that.
Mav neither used excessive swearing and it was relevent to his post - to indicate what a mess about it was when the incident happened at work.

Mav's trying to say, making a post that just says shit fuck cunt etc, thats against the rules. Mav used "fook me" in context, he's confused and stressed.

Will people stop acting like babies, the thread yesterday was funny for a few posts, then it turned stupid.

Swearing to one person is normal language to the other, the english launguage has now made a place for swearing and is now used widely, i do not agree with excessive swearing but i dont think it should be banned.

I also dont see how fook is better than the actual swear word as it is seen and read as f.u.c.k . I dont understand it personally.

Swearing isn't banned, it's all about using it in context if the post allows....Like how I used fook..(deffo not a swearword)..

We just don't want a thread full of swearing for no reason...

I don't think the idea was to ban swearing, everyone knows swearing is part of life... the idea is to mask the swear work to dampen the impact.

I think the principles of this post comes from people acting like kids and abusing the fact that the filter had been dropped for a few days...

I mean come on, you wouldn't go into ASDA and steal something just becasue the security gaurd was on his tea break, and those who did would get caught on camera and takig in by police... it's the same here, IMO
