With all the posts in general chat asking for picture requests would it be possible for any moderators of corsa sport to setup a search engine for everyone car pictures??
For example you wanted to search for a Corsa, in silver, with speedlines then just type it into the search and it would bring all the cars wit the above up? Or search for corsa, with a let on softstars?
People could submit pictures of there cars and give a lost of keywords which would be used to match peoples searches.
Its only a suggestion and maybe would be to much hassle but just think it migth save all the picture requests.

This seems a good idea - would be even better if the results were taken from the users garage specs (ie engine size, wheel details etc)

good idea, would mean every picture you were trying to find would need to be a members car though, and they would have to have a garage which only premium members have?

I can see what your sayign tom but i think if users had to submit details of there cars they wouldnt bother, Whereas if the details are takeen from the garage then its all automatic

but they would still have to submit the details of their cars though as a search cant analyse an image in a garage  ?

But alot of members tend to put the details of their car in when they set up their garage I think

Trouble with garage data is its currently full of rubbish. Many people are using it for non-car stuff, which would make the search results a bit rubbish as a result.
Definately something worth persuing though, and when we have new software for the garage which I intend to develop for the future, this will certainly be in there.

could there be an option in the garage for car pics and non car pics (ie in my garage i have pics of my car, and as a seperate 'vehicle' i have all my photoshops)
EDIT: and only do the search on 'car pics' sections of peoples garages

Of course there could, but if I'm going to program in a hack like that it may as well be proper folders for random stuff while the car/garage data thing stays as-is.

Maybe folders for random/misc pics is the way forward as people will always want to have random pics

could you have properties on pictures so that if you had a picture of someone elses car you could have colour/wheels/kit etc so that you could find a picture even if they didnt have a garage Ian?

i personally dont think its a good idea to make it part of the main search, making the garages searchable would be ok, something we have on vw.

I think the hardest part would be getting people to fill in details of the spec of thier cars and keep them upto date

Shouldn't be too difficult - we have space for car spec so details can be filled it.
Would need a garage though.

from the search at the moment surely if you put a search in for softstars it will bring up all the posts and there will be pics in there..
I know what you are suggesting is more 'to the point though'
