I went. I thought it was crap, but thats simply because there were far to many tourists and a man threw bird seed near me making pidgeons go too close to me.

No, but quite a few of my colleagues have been....
General consensus was its very low level and smells quite a bit 
I still intend including venice on my cruise next year

When we got there at about 6am it was great because it was empty. Everything seems a hell of a lot smaller once you get there though!

I've been there a few times.....
I would generally say its good for a day trip....
see the sites, feed the pigeons, go on a gondola,
anything longer than that and you just notice that it smells like wee and is quite dirty

Just for info...i would highly recommend pisa.....its VERY nice.....nice place, nice sites, nice gardens, clean...and then florence is nearby with all the arty farty shit

Been on a rugby tour to Lido de Jesalo (sp?) which is the beachy bit just outside of Venice. Spent one day there, far too many con-men trying to take your money by selling you shite and tourists there but was good to see the place.
