Probably asking on the wrong site as there aren't many restorators on here, but does anyone know anything about nickel plating? Does it cost any more than chrome plating? Not been able to speak to any companys in the know yet as there isn't anyone very local to me who does it...

Do you know if he was able to take the parts to the place dirty? I don't want to have to pay a lot for blasting at one place then the same again for the plating
(I hate paying people to do stuff anyway on my car now)

You can send the parts to them dirty as they will have to strip them anyway.
Nickel plating is cheeper than chroming as to chrome something you copper it then nickel it then chrome it.

Hmmm, interesting. I like the idea of nickel. It's a bit more of a gold colour to chrome, plus I want to be different

Don'thave Sky working Some guy recomended it to me at Uni. Looked at a few samples and thought it was quite cool. To chrome you have to nicle plate first anyway. THought that was only for wheels, but apparently not.

Was going to ask the same.

Got to say though, it looks loads better than Chrome with that yellow/goldy tint.
