where would i buy a 4-2-1 S/s janspeed from?
I just looked on janspeed direct, but doesn't say if its s/s or not, or what the pipe formation is.

can you suggest a decent s/s 4-2-1 manifold then? dont mind spendind £200-300 since the exhaust has already cost £600 so far.

why do you want stainless? the best exhausts available are mild steel ones.

manifolds get so hot that they dont really rust. stainless ones are prone to cracking as well.

plus stainless ones dont stay shiny for long.

my janspeed one is 2 years old and it was removed a few weeks back, all that was wrong was a bit of flaky surface rust.

the one on my xr2 (years ago) lasted about 8 years, then the car was sold.

the gains that you get from any 'performance product' are directly related to the other modifications you have carried out.

i.e; the manifold would gain something but with a standard inlet on an x16xe its pointless fitting one as the biggest restriction is the inlet.

I dont know what my manifold gained by way of bhp/torque but im currently running 180bhp so the manifold cant be bad.

I wouldn't get a protech manifold if I were you. They sit stupidly low and hit the floor all the time

Are you having a Giraffe? What is this statement based on? I've had my BTB mild steel manifold wrapped from day one and it's still in one piece. Surely wrapping the manifold keeps the heat in and therefore reduces the chance of cracking as the metal is more ductile when hot?

its based on me beeing told by loads of ford tuners never to rap a mild steel manifold because its promotes cracking

i dont know the inns and outs of it without rininging one of them up, so cant argue techincally, buts it wildly know that most of them, espically the janspeed ones crack after time when rapped

rallydesign also know about this

when i had my BTB it was fine when rapped

but im only passing on info ive been told by people who i respect

also the mongoose mild steel downpipe are well known fro cracking when heat rapped
