for a car that age though it could of needed a headlight, wing and bumper,

write-offs on cars that age are nothing, but it will affect the resale value

Not exactly.

Could have been Cat D, where it doesnt have to be repaired to a certain standard, where as Cat C, then has to go for a VIC(i think) check, to prove the car is road worthy.

I work at a Car Collision Repair Centre as an apprentice, and all the people i work with buy write offs all the time, fix them and sell them. One guy has just bought an 06 plate Corsa SXi+.

Another lad just got a 1.8 SRi Corsa C for 2495. Bargain.

I dont see why people think write offs are bad? If they have passed the VIC check, it means the cars road worthy and safe, so i dont see the problem?

*VCAR status remains with the vehicle for the rest of its life, regardless of it being repaired and checked to be of a safe standard. Inclusion on the VCAR register does not indicate that the vehicle has been repaired.

dont know in the uk but here it will never be insured!

Hey Liam, im 17, on my dads insurance on an N plate 1.4 Sport aswell, and im sure mines been written off before, not had a HPI check or anything, just from what i can see, and i know its been bumped and dinged all over. First car, gonna get fucked, i know from experience.

Buy it if i were you, just hope it passes MOT. Only trouble i had with mine since Feb is Rear Brake Cylinder leaked other week, and for MOT needed CV Joint and something else small, only cost me bout 20quid to get sorted.
