when you buy a new car can you choose your reg?Or do ou have to have one for you region?

Really wnt RR56 ANT on my new car but dont think ill be allowed

Yeah, you still have to pay for certain reg's. Just ask and see what they can do.

You can do if you are lucky. The dealer said he would look out for a Rx56 ECS plate for my new car as it's my initials. But I won't hold my breath.

as far as i know dealers are just allocated registrations and when they are used up they get some more. there isn't much scope for picking them

Dealers get a number of reg's allocated to them, they don't pick them so you just have a choice of from what they are given from DVLA, so you would be lucky to drop on one with your initials.

from memory you get a choice of 3 from the dealer that are all very similar

if you want that reg have to buy it as a private plate from dvla

I think the fact that its listed as a cherished plate means you must pay for it as one & no garage will have access to it.
