these are a bit before my time, can anyone tell me the main problems they had, i know that stem seals were a problem but what are the others. thinkin of buyin one thats all. cheers!

piston rings on c16xe. They're getting on now so rust

Was the plastic manifold prone to cracking at all?

flatspots between 1 and 2k. Let me know if you manage to cure that problem.

the plastic inlet manifold on mine exploded. Also the piston rings were knackered on mine and the valve stem seals. The engine had only done 65K. If looked after, the body work is fine on them. Might have problems with the ABS.

y dont you just buy a sport 1.6 there newer and same engine form the later gsi. only realy thing they miss is the bodykit

rings and stem seals had gone on mine after 62k also the abs sensors new ones cost me £80 if i remember from vauxhall apart from that no problems only bearings (my fault)
