Anyone on here have this? Is it worth it? Costs etc? Basically that thin film that goes over your windows so when they're hit, they dont break....

Is this as a safety or security measure???
I think if someone really wants in your car it wouldnt deter them.

when im out with car, 90% of time its parked in works car park. thsi is a busy multistory which constantly has people in from 9am until 10:30pm, when people break in to cars, its literally smash, grab, run as fast as can or they will be seen. Surely this stops that? In our car park, they wouldnt have time to bend door back, play with locks etc

Obviously window film will help but only a bit they will stil get in if they want. Best deterant is to hide everything valuable from view.

I would get a CD player with removable face & use it....take it in your bag with you, before going down the film route.

clean car (nothing on show) & maybe a steering lock & they will just walk straight past your car to the next one thats more appealing.

you can, it can be pushed outwards, just not in, as the film is applied in a way so it only works one way.

Don't get it. If you need to get out of your car in a hurry then you might regret having it.
Though most proper window tinting shops sell it.

I thought this stuff jsut stops bit of glass getting everywhere, So if sum1 was to break in they would just be able to smash the window, it would stay in one bit and they could get in the car easier

The emergency services hate this stuff.
They have to remove windows to get to people within RTA's.
This is obviously a downside.
Alot of the problems above (apart from the car park obviously) can be avoided by just being careful.

For me i wouldnt - the only compelling reason to do this would be to prevent the windows being smashed whilst the car is within the car park,
The down sides are what i have mentioned above.

Ok this may be me being rather dumb, but I'll admit windows aren't a speciality of mine.....but window tinting film....would this not have a similar effect?
