Does anyone know anybody that works in this profession? Do they like the job?

Have looked around on a couple of various websites and the job itself sounds alright, making false teeth, braces, dental stuff

I need to start buckling down and decide on what i want to be in the future etc, have looked at couple of different area's, but i am really undecided. Come across dental technician's not to bad pay to start with, and while working you also get to do the B-Tec National Diploma so that's pretty good, and once qualified the pay aint to bad!

I have also been thinking about..

Midwifery
Dentist
Dental Technician
Emergency Service Call Centre
Police
Health Visitor

But i'm still undecided.. Anyone else have a problem deciding?

My sister works at an Ambulance HQ as an 'Emergency Medical Dispatcher'.

Basically she takes the 999 calls after the operator puts you through, she also gives out like first aid advice, like CPR etc whilst a 'Dispatcher' sends out the ambulance.

She likes her job, but it is shift work and shifts are from 7am until 7pm, or 7pm until 7am.

You do realise that being a Dentist is a long degree course and a Dental Technician is a 3 year degree course.

So she works in a call centre reading stuff off of a PC screen.

TBH I think its a bit more important than "just working in a call centre reading stuff off a screen"

You have to give the right advice/help, you have peoples lives in your hands

And... this is a good way to work your way up to training for an Ambulance Technician or Paramedic.

(For those of you who don't know the difference, a Paramedic is trained to administer heart drugs, an Ambulance Technician isn't.)
