As some of you may know, I recently purchased an N64 from someone off eBay. Now he listed delivery as £9.00 for Royal Mail Special Delivery - guaranteed next working day before 1pm.
He claims to have sent it on tuesday, therefore I should have received it yesterday, but nothing. Today, nothing.
I emailed him to ask and he said he sent it by Parcel Force, and that "it should arrive tomorrow". I replied back querying why he sent it PF instead of Special Delivery.
What are my rights on something like this? Can I request a partial refund on delivery as he sent it a slower cheaper method? Should I complain to eBay or Paypal or something?

Ask him for the tracking number, if he stated to of posted via special delivery there will be a tracking number.
If he says there isnt one, then he either hasn't sent it or he sent it via regular package service, so will only cost about £3 or something, he then pockets £6

yes you can report him to ebay, but wait until you get the item
Then report him for excessive postage costs and not abiding to the terms and conditions of the listing

I will post up when he replies to my email. If he did indeed send it by PF, would it have a sticker showing the price of postage on it like you get with Special Delivery and other things sent through Royal Mail in general?

No, I don't think on Parcel force it will show up
But you can claim via Paypal and contact ebay because on the listing, it clearly states that delivery is 1 working day
If posted on tuesday, it should be guaranteed delivery by 1pm the next day
Contact ebay on this part, you paid for a service but didn't meet expectations

Yes and if you actually read the advert it states ROYAL MAIL SPECIAL DELIVERY.

I'm not disputing that fact.
I'm just saying to abdus that the length of time can't be blamed on the seller.

In this case it can, as he did not send it via the means that was advertised. i.e. I paid for next day delivery by Special Delivery, he didn't send it that way, therefore I feel I am entitled to complain and possibly get some sort of reimbursement on the P&P costs.

I'm not sure if I should ask for some money back now? He claims in his email the type of postage was selected in error?
