not that im actually going to get it done... was just curious on the cost

I priced up a full 100k service, front & rear brakes, timing belt kit (inc tensioners), water pump replacement and oil pump replacement...

£1506.43 inc fitting & vat... (oil pump was £200 cheaper if done during the service)

possibly

I did Rhyll & back, had 3/4 a tank going, had just over 1/4 a tank when I got back... say 30ish litres of fuel used...

Liverpool -> Rhyl -> Northwich -> Weaverham -> Liverpool

136.8 miles (according to mappoint)

21.03 MPG, average of 20.94pence per mile...

For some reason my brother's old Cavalier V6 had the same fuel economy as my 1.4 Astra... Either the V6 never drank much or my Astra has something seriously wrong with the engine (I suspect the latter personally )!

To make you feel a little better paul, the 205 managed to use 1/4 of a tank per lap of the ring, that's £45/4 of fuel for 13.3miles
