Ello, tnite on the way home from work i came across one of these - on our private highway Anyways it was pritty god dam fast, i couldn't overtake and he couldn't get away - if anything i was catchin him v.v.slightly ...
I've looked at pictures but can't decide which one it was (There were two) It had a twin exhaust - looked pritty standard with an induction kit. Is there away of telling which one ??? Cos im curious
Jus wonder'd if any1 else came across one ??

the way to tell the difference is, the 180 got 17" five spoke alloys and has 180 under the GTi badge, carbon effect mirrors, twin round exhaust and bucket seats but most of this you would'nt be able to notice going high speed at night there a few other difference that i can't think of at the mo..

if it had a twin exhaust, its likely to be a gti 180!!
the gti180 has just under 180bhp, and the gti has 137bhp, so ya can probs guess which one ya wa racing going off ur approx bhp!!

Thats quite poor from the 180 if those stats are correct 42bhp more but only shaves off .5 of a second - 60

Hmm
Corsa GSi 1.6 16v
Power Output = Not a clue
Torque : same
Tuned : DBilas inlet, Janspeed 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, Magnex exhaust inc de-cat, induction kit, power boost valve magnicore leads .. erm thats about it tbh
Jus looking at the stats, there aint that much difference between them both . . I honestly dont know wot it had ... i saw the GTi badge and it had a twin circle exhaust, was fast but i matched him

i thought the same Eckmcmann but as i thought it's got to be something to do with the shape of the car
an extra 42 bhp and 9 lb/ft of torque
with a extra 7 mph top end "shocked"
EDIT forgot to add also a extra £40 tax, 138 GTi is £150 tax a year
stats are from Parkers

Hmmm well, don't take it away, it was fast ... considering i've spent quite alot on my engine and that was standard (Presuming) apart from induction kit

from looking at the engines of both the 138 and 180 only difference i can see is where the throttle body is mounted the 138 has a restrictive inlet kind of like the 1.4/1.6 corsa long pipes with bends in, the 180 has a straight inlet
206 gti is quick plenty of power to overtake not entrierly gutless but match it with any other hot hatch i fear i maybe upset
opps the last 'i' of the last sentence was meant to be and 'it' meaning the car i'll leave it as is!!

Well i've removed my restrictive inlet with DBilas one It's awsome, wud recommend to any 1.4 16v or GSi's does really release some power - as shown to the 180bhp pug GTi I'll claim it was that one haha
