I currently use a Griffin RoadTrip to play music from my iPod Nano through my stereo. The RoadTrip is an FM transmitter and the quality of the sound isn't too good, but it works.
I was looking into getting a Dension ICE Link for my car and after reading up on the forums, went down to Halfords to check it out. The sales assistant was really helpful and said that this product wouldn't really give me a significant improvement over what I had already. He said he'd fitted it to the Corsa C before and not been impressed with the results...
So the only other option looks like a new head unit. I was reluctant to do this as the current CD stereo is OK for radio and CD's, and it matches the aluminium trim. A new headunit would mean using an adapter fascia which wouldn't look as neat.
Has anyone used the Dension link and got some feedback on the performance? Or did you take the plunge and get a new head unit? Any recommendations?
Cheers :-)

you would be worth while going for the harmon kardon one if you dont want to change your head unit, if you dont mind changing it then the alpine ipod sterios are ace

Yeh, I saw the Harmon Kardon unit there too. That was £150, but the sales assistant there seemed to suggest the quality still wasn't great. Seems that the headunit change may be the only way to go...

the quality is okay on the harmon kardon one, especialy compared to the others but when you can change to a decent headunit with the same features for a bit more cash then you might aswell

Thanks for the replies :-)
I didn't really want to change the headunit - partly for the hassle, but partly so keep the dash looking neat. I was playing around with my Griffin RoadTrip yesterday and seem to have improved the sound a little, but the 'hissing' remained.
Anyone got any photos of their dash with a different head unit in using the adapter?

danjc here you go. Have had this in for a few years now, looking a bit marked where the facia flips down but does the job. Ain't an exact match for colour but im nae fussy

Can see using the auxillary there, simple phono lead to my ipod or anything else. Not a believer in the transmitters, but thats just my pov.
