Hello,

Ive just bought an Ipod 60gb Video from a seller listed in China.

He has 20+ feedback but upon investigation all are from him buying 1p info files.

Also the thing only cost £85 including postage.

I think this sounds extremely dodgy but now i have been silly and bought it my question is.

Do i pay for it with Paypal and hope for the best?

What happens if he doesn't send anything, am i insured?

By the way pay method i have just noticed is 'other' not paypal so their cover is out of the question.

Have emailed seller for total and payment details

Think ive been a bit stupid!

even though you've committed to buy it, don't bother sending him the funds. Sounds dodgy to me.

Think you're covered up to £500 (i think) when using Paypal. I have opened a dispute with them after not receiving an item I purchased 3 weeks ago. They investigate, email both parties and come to a conclusion. They reverse the transaction and you get your money back

Yeah but as its not a paypal auction i would only be covered up to £150 minus £15 charges.

I am going to report the auction to Ebay and see what they say and also await an email off the seller see which dodgy pay method he wants.

Western Union most likely, sneaky fuckers.

yesh thats defo dodgy, people buy tons of ebooks to make it look like they are legit and then rip you off, usually people new to ebay get caught out like that.

just report to ebay, theres a cat for dodgy sellers and they will remove him/her.

no, I'm just saying. It's a valid reason to remove him from ebay if it turns out he is a fraudulent seller.

no but look at the facts, hes newly registered.

he only has feedback from 1p e-book auctions, a common wy of getting around not having feedback if you want to con people.

theres no picture of the item being sold.

its really cheap for a new item, why didnt he have a reserve on it? why is he happy it has sold for so little when its worth a lot more.

he will not accept paypal, another sign that he is a fraudster, as not payin by paypal meens there is less chance of him having money claimed back off him.

So pretty obvious he is trying to scam really.

That was £85 well spent. You'd have been better off putting a match to it than lining the slant eyed twats pockets. IMO of course.
