Just go to M&S they've got some really nice suits from £99 and get a black or grey then you've got one for all occasions

www.slatermenswear.com Slaters have a great choice of casual and formal wear, plus they have staff who give good advice. Also they have a great hire department.
Dunno where you live tho, but they have shops all over

Black smart trousers are usually much nicer material, almost have a bit of a shine to them. Suit trousers.
School trousers are just dull and cheap.

agreed - smart ones are better fittest and have that "smart and expensive" look about them.

Just get a suite Jim, then you never have to worry about situations such as these in the future mate, also u can use the trousers from the suite seperatly, Debenhams do good suites as do M&S and next

Jim, I think a suit is a good investment, as long as you don't intend to put on/loose a lot of weight! A standard type suit won't date as much as an ultra trendy one and it could last you a few years.
