Rat's are great little things to have around. And A_J_Mair, as lynny said, domesticated rats/gerbils etc are very clean and are not vermin. The only thing with rats is they need a lot of affection, so if you're busy all the time then its not the best rodent to have

i had a gecko but was forever losing it, ive had a lot of pets but by far my favorites are my snakes,i have a corn snake and a royal python there ace pets, the python is quite small at the moment and manages to eat small mice while the corn snake is full size and eats young rats. good thing is you can hold em and they cant just run off
