It was fantastic!

Picked up some good offshore wind and a half decent swell a week ago last saturday then the wind swung around giving some choppy but strong ground swell that lasted out the week producing smallish but decent waves around 3ft consistently. Saturday just gone and the winds died out and the swell increased to about 3ft again giving a nice glassy face. Just what the doctor ordered - best bit was the sea was so warm I was just out surfing in boardies! Think ive got more tan in one week than I have even in australia in 6 months!

oh you lucky barstad!! ive not been surfing for years and years. used to love it, actually used to dream about it and go to cliff top everyday to check for swell

I tried to pick up a reasonable 2nd hand shortboard because my mini-mal was a bit stiff for the waves but on my better judgement i knew I should be saving for NZ in 3 months time...

The caravan I was in had a view of the beach so I could check the swell every morning from the van!

hmm its been a long time m8, id look like a tit in front of all the kids now. Have you ever been surfing east runton & cromer dood?

cromer and east runton? north norfolk m8, probably one of best spots in east anglia, very popular now. i think if you do a search there is a webcam for cromer beach.

Not seen it firing at cromer before, but i guess im not there for the winter swells.

i LOVE north devon! i went earlier this year for a long weekend, it was awesome, not been since i was a kid, nothin beats cryode beach

i havnt been surfin or bodyboarding since i was about 13, really want to go some time this year, might have to rent a board if i go down
