the only good thing about a skyline is the performance. why would you want an ugly japanese box thats slow?

what is the quote anyway for the 2.0? i bet its still expensive with it being a skyline. to be honest if your really wanting a jap car, id get a mr2 or something similar. even the tubbys are okish on insurance if you shop around and then a few years later when you get some NCB then start looking at skylines

i think we should wait till he gets quotes on the turbos before giving comments about the car. because without having NCB your going to have to be 25 for a decent quote. how old are you anyway williams? guessing below 21 if this is the first time on your own insurance?

not really cos those NCB are your dads. but some companies now will transfer them. my brother was under my dads name years ago with direct line and after 2 years being insured with them he went onto his own name and got 3 years no claims, work that one out lol

Some firms take it, some don't. I asked Adrian Flux if they would take 3 years from a traders policy. They wouldn't.

Direct Line took mine over.

But, if you are a named driver, you don't get any NCB. Which is why it's at the companies discretion.

For info on skylines go to:

www.gtr.co.uk
www.skylineowners.com

A GTS-t is 2.5 RWD single Turbo and much cheaper to buy than the equivalent GTR which is 2.6 twin turbo 4x4.
You can find R33 GTS-t's for under £5k on the trader. The R33 GTR's come in at £9k-£10k

I'd say get a run around in your own name for a year get some of your own NCB then you'll find the insurance much cheaper.
