Chris Sutton will be a superb buy if thats correct and he's used wisely with a goalscorer beside him, he's the player that both Shearer and Larsson fed off when at Blackburn and Celtic respectively

How can you say Ian Westlake and Chris Sutton in the same sentence It wasn't so long ago Chris Sutton was rattling in volleys against Juventus and winning man of the match awards against Porto and AC Milan what has Ian Westlake done in comparison?

Westie has been off form for the past 2 seasons, even when we were up there at the top season before last he was often found missing from the team.

Now the lad has been playing in our team for 3 seasons, 2 of which hampered by injury and lack of form, his first season he was outstanding, personally and totally IMO I think its a superb bit of business, not only do we get a fee of around 400k but also Dan Harding who last season cost Leeds 850k from Brighton.

Midfield is a position we are lucky enough to have plenty of cover, with Williams, Currie, Richards, Garvan, Peters & Skard (new boy Alex Bruce can also play central midfield) so I am personally pleased if this all goes through before Saturday.

As for Sutton, not sure, I think at this level he may just shine, what he needs though is to score a couple in the first few games to get him motivated and positive, so once again if we pull the transfer off another good bit of busines, and offering him a pay per play contract is excellent, because if he is sh1t and doesn't pull is weight then he can be shown the door.

I hope now that Parkin is got rid of, QUICKLY.

Also linked with us and could be with us before Saturday is West Spams, Noble? A decent midfielder with plenty of promise, the season they got promoted he was voted their best player, so must be quite good.

Believe me, if you manage to get Chris Sutton and you play a pacey goalscorer off of him it will bear fruit, i have absolutely no doubt about it.

I watched him every week for 5 seasons and he never once had a bad game, he was critical in all the success Martin O'Neill had as Celtic manager. He can also play centre mid as well as centre half and he plays them all just as well.

He was absolutley shocking when I saw him make his debut for Chelsea and many other games....

I wouldn't have him in my Southend team let alone any other team. His work rate is poor, his team play is poor and overall a waste of money!

He is even worse than Heskey and thats saying something, he may get a few goals but overall id say "stay well clear"

Not only that his wages would be huge and IMO he doesn't deserve it!

It's all well and good raving about how good Sutton WAS but he's just not that good anymore, add in to the mix that he's a ex-Norwich player then the Ipswich fans will be on his back from day one wether he does well or not - a bad move for club and for him imo.

Ipswich have also signed Steve Bruces' son....

Alex Bruce is quality Jules, a new center back so we no longer have to relay on dodgy dogy Naylor.

Pretty sure we're one of the best supported teams in the league, I know we're one of the most expensive aswell

Best supported???

I think Leeds, Sunderland, Birmingham, Wolves & West Brom might have something to say about that.
