Hi all

Im playing flight sim and need your help.

When im in the air im fine, im just struggling with take off.

A few things.... How do you know how much to set the rudder trim dependant upon wind? I always seem to drift to the left unless i put loads of right rudder on but then it can be too much, cant seem to get it just right!

Also when taking off, are the wings up or down? I seem to have too much or to little because i put the pitch trim on aswell.. Do I need this for take off or is this just to straighten out when flying in the sky?

Cheers all any help would be great as Im about to fly to Tenerife

regarding take off... u would need to extend flaps as much as possible to get maximum lift! you sure you are using full take off power? dont really need to use pitch trim unless runway is really short... extending full flaps and full take off power (on all engines) is what you need!

Thanks mate, i think im using full power as im usnig the throttle on the controller..

When you mean extend flaps you mean have them fully down? and when u take of gradually bring them up and use pitch yeh?

yes flaps fully down.... as soon as u leave the ground, you can not used pitch still if u leave the flaps extended. you can use pitch to increase the rate of climb but i wouldn't suggest it cause you would be risking entering a stall (plane looses control and just dives)

Getting there!

Been using pitch as well as flaps tho to help climb

Once plan is at correct height should flaps be fully up? and then just use pitch?

Whats the score with coming down? how to i drop without nose dropping too much ?

have your flaps level in level flight, use air breaks and put your flaps fully up to land and off the loud lever a little

yea mate, the faster the air passes over the wing the more lift it generates that side, so if there fully up, its quicker for air to pass under them, creating lift on the underside of the wing, and you go down.

exactly my point. Chances of you actually flying / being able to fly your own plane are quite slim for us average joes / blue color slob.
