It's an old car. Old gaskets are always really really thick because the engineering back then was no where near as accurate as we have now.

its a decompression plate, so you can run 15psi, as opposed to the 8psi on a standard one

i havent bought on yet though, as i need to find a way to convert the car to EFI

i dont understand, theres only 3 branches on the manifold but its a 4 cylinder engine? how does that work?

middle one has siamesed ports.

there are only 2 inlet ports too

and yeah, it is a crap design, a 5 port non crossflow head, cam is in the block, pushrods to the valves, and 3 crank bearings

The A+ and mini blocks/heads have 5 ports 2 inlet and 3 exhaust the desidn goes back to the early 1920's most moderm engines now are a cross flow design 4 ports in and 4 out

yeah i remember rebuilding an old ford pushrod heap of crap at college, cam was a twat to do on that.

yep sure are chain driven cams in the middle of the block an engine out job

ooh the fun of driftin the cam in with a copper mallet trying not balls the seats inside the block oh what fun i had

In fairness, that was new on a 'y' plate....

My lasting memory of the thing was having to select first gear, whilst going up a hill I can manage on my MTB
