why do they do it, as if you can push it further into the floor and it magically raises your rev limit

You'll find that most 1.2 8v crs have a foot shaped impression in the firewall/floorpan where the driver's been mashing the accelerator to get anywhere

on my nova, the throttle cable was stretched, so you genuinely had to stand on it to get full throttle

accelerator pedal needs to be replaced every 500-1000 miles
