I'd rather go on acourse than risk getting points.

Although I agree you shouldn't have to if you weren't to blame.

My mate had a run in, well he crashed his prelude into a van knocking it over.

Anyway he went on the filter lane light, and the van was seen putting his foot down as the lights changed. Police told my mate he had to do the course or get points. It looked as though the van driver wasnt properly insured but my friend lost the case as he had taken the course.

The course though is very good. I did an advanced course (came with my car) so was surprised my mate came out of the course talking about limit points and how to corner faster! I thought they wouldnt encourage fast driving, but he came out of it with the same knowledge I have lol. Well worth knowing how to drive your car fast, and safely.

please explain how the police have done something stupid????
In the eyes or the law and insurance, if you go into back of someone then it IS your fault for not keeping enough distance. the fact that theyre offering course and not just giving him points is showing that they understand there were unusual circumstances, one off and hes not a dangerous driver....thusly giving him second chance. end of day this course will give him a better insight into driving (not saying hes bad driver but no matter how long youve been driving for, theres alwasy stuff to learn) and course will be cheaper than insurance increase from points!

Could you not just say you cant afford to go on the course and if they want you to go on it then they will have to pay?

see it as an oppurtunity more than a punishment. people pay loads to go on courses to learn to drive better! couple hundred quid isnt much plus will help on insurance in future

Dont know how i survived!

The paramedic said the harnesses and seats saved me from serious harm!

Because i got hit side on normal belts/seats wouldnt have protected me like mine did due to having high side supports and 5point harnesses!
