Going up to Edinburgh for the weekend with the Missus and wondered if any of you kind people could recommend some nice bars and restaurants for us to sample on our stay.
We're staying at the Apex International next to the Grass Market? I've only been to Edinburgh the once and it was a drunken hazy mess and really cant remember much, so a point in the right direction this time round would be great

Grassmarket is more the kinda studenty/touristy area....has some nice bars along it....
you're only minutes away from the Royal Mile too with the castle.
There's a nice restraunt on George IV Bridge called the Outsider....its only up the hill from you
George Street on the other side of Princess Street is the more poser area...it is full of bars/restraunts/clubs.....
Le Monde is a new swanky bar, restraunt and club...only been there once but the food was good

Cheers for that, someone has already mentioned Le Monde to me so I might have to investigate that one further

Rubbish Rubbish, Rubbish! Espionage is full of drunken hen and stag nights!
You want to get along George Street. Le Monde is pretty good with a club downstairs called Toyko I think.. Also got Candy Bar, Opal Lounge, Bar 38. Why Not is a good club. Take a lot of cash tho.

@ pronunciations of Edinburgh! Around here it's either
Eh-din-buh-ra,
Eh-din-bruh,
The Burger.
Off topic rant, but I hate people who call Glasgow "Glass-gou" or "Glezz-gah"
