I went to rally day at castle combe, which in itself was a bit poo - especially with the weather. However, I had 2 track sessions. The first session on track was fairly early in the morning and out with the rallye register lot.

Only downside with first session was the understeer from my over inflated tyres (I forgot the pressures would rise and had them at 32 or more before leaving the pits... So god knows what they were at) and no brakes, due to shit brakes that have been abused.

First session

Good jokes. Car flies down that main straight, which is quite scary when you know you have no brakes. Hitting 120 mph as you go over the rise, then hard braking (or lots of brake fade) for quarry!!

Then I spent some time, helping butler off of here - push his 106 Rallye back to the pits, after he blew it up (well the rad / head gasket went)

The funniest bit was butler was in the car, me and his mate pushing the back - due to having the engine off, there was no pressure in the brakes so they virtually didn't work. We're pushing the car up a hill and then over the crest, then the car starts picking up pace where we're running pushing it - then the car is travelling down the hill faster than us running, heading straight for a massive group of people I was expecting to see carnage! Butler put the brakes on and they didn't do much, all the people were jumping out of the way! Funny at the time anyway lol.

Then my uni mate turned up, and I offered him a passenger ride for the 2nd session. The only problem is the heavens had opened and the rain / hail / snow was coming down hard!

My mate was a little bit scared, when we went out on track as you'll see in the pictures, lots of puddles, lots of rear oversteer action hah.

Couldn't see much due to spray - brakes barely worked and there was a severe lack of grip - good fun all the same though

if you watch this vid (not me driving) http://s114.photobucket.com/albums/n266/kateloader/?action=view&current=lap4gettingfaster.flv

just at the end of it - out of a shicane you see me and my mate go flying past in my car at a silly speed for the conditions, back end came out again big style on the corner after we pass

Sorry for essay / pic whoring

Needs new brakes and a better clutch (STILL!!) - but gonna leave my tyres at 28 psi next time as someone pointed out they'll be up at about 36 at least when your out on track after warming up.

Gonna do combe again @ euro fest ( I like the track, easy, risk free, good for cars like mine)

then do trax (which will be crap for my car)

silverstone is too long unless you have about 600bhp

they should allow a few sessions on the short circuit for lower power cars

yeh - I agree, it'll be crap.

Just gonna do it for the experience and the pub talk. Most people haven't heard of castle combe (despite it being on fifth gear and top gear!) - but they've all heard of silverstone.

Anyway, my car seemed to hold up pretty well on track. no doubt when I start my new job I'll be spending more pennies on it. Really needs a LSD. Possibly a lightened Flywheel.

Did you get my text? Thanks again for your help mate! I got scared when I was heading for the crowd of people, did you see those girls run My 'mate' was my brother by the way, couldnt you see the resemblance? Also, my tyres were at 32 and I didnt experience excessive amounts of understeer Cant believe you didnt really enjoy it, I had a great time despite the obvious flaws.

cheers for the comments guys.

Can't wait for 9th of sept for euro fest at combe hopefully my car will be sorted then.

Butler it wasn't I didn't enjoy it - just that my car didn't exactly perform how it did last time / how I wanted it and the sessions were a tad short.

Get some time at euro fest butler!
