saw a program advertised on TV last night, something about how a ball-point pen saved one of the Apollo missions

Not sure, anyone else know? Think it's on next monday

the Fisher Space Pen was very handy on the Apollo missions, but i dont think it saved one

Apollo 9 mission Dave was used to replace a broken switch - switch broke on the control panel to fire the rocket boosters and Buzz jammed the pen into the switch socket to make contact

Yea was a genius idea, even Houston didnt have a clue - just said ram something in there that in conductive, buzz saw the pen and thought that will do

Good pens though, got the old man one a few years back - 40 quids worth of pen but there brilliant and work in water too
