Anyone ever travelled there ?
Thinking of taking a 3 month Career break which has been agreed with work.
How much would i need to survive for 3 months, including plenty of ale

havent been myself (would love too though) but loads of my mates have, i think about a grand a month well see you through comfortably.
I think the local beer (chang) is cheap as and i know you can get a carrier bag full of good weed for like 10 quid or something (if your into that)....
everyone i know thats been there reckons its amazing....

I've been, very cheap and an awesome place. Went to Bangkok (great shopping + nightlife although be careful of dodgy people etc), Phucket and Phi Phi island.
Deff go for it you won't regret, I spent about £800 in two weeks although I did go OTT with Limos etc (again cheap!) £500 for a month should be fine.
Make sure you stay in a 5 star Hotel for a few nights, it's only £50 a night and they are awesome - would be £500+ in London for something like the Patunwan or sofitel silom.

£500 a month is plenty.. I stayed in guesthouses in mixed dorms most of the time I was there.. £1 a night and plenty of fitties on gap years etc.
Fake dvds are like £1 each, £20 each for a fake rolex and a couple of quid for cheap clothes.
As above, stay in a5* at least one night, its nuts!
