Rare to venture into gc but figured i would get some advice.

Basically anyone here have any recommendations for diesel vans about the size of a vito for £2k prefereably less mark?

Also been looking at pick ups like a hilux not sure what they are like on insurance though as always wanted a defender but insurance was too high. Know this isn't a van forum but there must be some van drivers out there as i need this sorta thing for my outdoor pursuit roadtrips

dont get a berlingo mine does 300-350 miles to £60 fuel non turbo 1.9 diesel its pathetic - thought the corsa was bad does about the same lol

vauxhall corsa combo new shape.. drive one for work and i manage to get a 250 quad in the back!! and ye big enough to lye down in!! not that bad off the mark either!! dont advise you get anything like transit connect there real slow!!

yeh i reckon it is, i fitted a impreza full exhaust from windscreen to back of van, and considering cabin space is pretty small, thast a decent enough size.
there's a metal panel behind the seats you can remove, that gives you an extra few inches for space aswel.

Yeh ive got a Renault Kangoo which is similar, also a 1.9 non turbo diesel, terrible

i got a vaux vivaro, pretty decent in the back but cant get 3 metre length in there which is a bit pants.

i drive a citroen relay for work. 2.5D (non turbo)
absolutely shocking. you can get it moving if you push it, but it's horrendously uneconomical. don't have any figures, but it drinks hard.

should also add, my everyday vehicle is a skoda pick up ( felicia based)
not very quick (mines a 1.3 petrol) but very good on fuel and can lug heavy loads. you can't lie in the bed with the gate up, but it's cool to drive with the gate down, then you can strap a kayak to the back. the lights are on the sides, so you'd only need an extra number plate.

I thought my Corsa was bad on fuel. At a very big push can get 375 miles to £40. That's like 5th gear joining motorways and doing 60 - 65 I think the worse i've had out of a tank is 200 but seriously hammering it down the motorways.

Ive got one aswell. Ive got the faster diesel one and its got a nice amount of torque so its not slow for a van.

You can pick up the old style transporter vans for 2k. There not the nicest to drive but better than any shitty french van

or a mark 2 (polo front) 1900 td. my dad's does 500 ish mpg when empty. weights about as much as a regular car and can carry 2 tons

Can't go wrong with a turbo diesel Transit MK III Carr. (the Sierra nosed one) Absolutely bomb proof mate.

Ive got a vivaro, 1.9 tdi 6 speed has plenty of pull and feels just like driving a car imo, sometimes id rather be driving about in it rather than my corsa
