Cool.

Is it a stand alone unit that fires the spark down a conventional lead Broster, or does it utilise a control unit and seperate coil packs for each cylinder?

i have a wasted spark set up on mine, am i getting technical? basically, standard vauxhall fires one spark per piston fire if that makes sence, wasted spark fires on spark each time the piston is at the top, so twice per revolution, hence wasted spark, its a single block with conventional leads comming from it... look where the leads go to on the side of the head:

if it had seperate coil packs per cylinder they just get fire signals from the ecu and fire as and when. pretty similar to the set up i have but meant to have a stronger spark, so better for turbo cars, hence the 200sx has them and golf 1.8t etc....

Good work Mr B.

If you are inquiring as to whether mine is an old unit, then no mate it's new.

The car was a full production model, but they built less than 900 of them so they are pretty thin on the ground.

Right, so now I know we're not talking about 3CM or any other real or mythical Jim that I am unaware of being a Jim, and that I am the Jim in question Jimbo...

Could you possibly clarify which unit of mine you were referring to please mate, and in what context, as my head is going all spinny.

I love calling it a Rover.

I hate MGs, I just think of crap stuff in a shed and dorks like Rob Bird when I hear the name MG.

I like to think of my car as the spiritual succesor of the following :

Rover P5B Coupe

Rover P6 3500S

Rover SD1 Vitesse twin Plenum

Now THOSE are Rovers.
