Do you get anything from it like cheaper insurance? Think you do, might be worth it...might even be worth it just to say you are an advanced driver

Bet you cant drive to the system of car control and evaluate limit points, approaching corners using half distance acceleration.

Get the braking out the way, blip the throttle then drop down. I find that way easier than heel and toe. Ive never seen the point in double clutching.

Its the way i do it. If im coming up to a bend where i need to drop down. I dip the clutch - hold it down, change gear, blip the throttle then engage the gear. I think with double clutching you have to put it in neutral, blip the throttle, dip the clutch, change gear then engage? Cant remember.

I dont think it matters on how long you have been driving, but what speeds and cars you have been driving. my grandads been driving 50 years does it mean hes a better driver than me ? no!!!

Anyway the police always think there the best at driving. personally only a selected few can drive in my opinion.

Oh i can do that aswell !!!

I looked into the IAM and the insurance savings are minimal... Teddy off here is a member

To get the IAM qualification you need to do the Advanced Driving Test lasts for about 90 minutes and will usually cover between 30 and 40 miles along all types of road (town driving, motorways (if available) or dual carriageways, and even country lanes)

See more info on the test here

i have been a member for about 4/5 years. this year i decided not to repay my fees. u get absolutey nothing out of it. one insurance company in ireland gives u a discount and they r twive tha price to begin with. no point in doing it in my opinion. just like ur normal test but with country driving. all about progressive driving etc etc etc
