insurance is so bad on these its over 2K for me as of nov when my insurance is due. if i cnt get any cheaper quotes its guna be a focus
anybody help and also tracing a mk4 golf gt tdi under 4K?

Get something that is affordable. get a 1.6 Corsa Sport. Or even a 1.4 or 1.8 sri corsa c. Theres lots of stuff out there for a 4k budget.

4k for a mk4 gt tdi, i work for vw and ive never seen a decent gt tdi golf that low, only the crap golfs (1.4, 1.6 and the real sheds) go for around 4k diesels tend to hold their value very well, and insurance companys are latching ontot the fact that some of these diesels are quick cars

insurance quotes are not only about speed
With it being VAG they are expensive to fix if they are damaged. Plus the GT badge will not help - same problem with GSI thats why it was renamed a sport later on in life for the corsa B
Get a standard TDI then remap, nice wheels etc and you will have a GT TDI but not with the GT badge for insurance purposes - and yes before anyone says he may have to tell his insurance about the remap and wheels or he may not its up to him
