my best friend is married to Leigh Remedios who was into MMA big style, but he has retired now, basically become a family man and had to have regular income not a bad fighter, think he was on UFC 38 or something, seemed to be on Cage Rage more. He is living in Chippenham now tryin to set up training classes for it.
my friend has tried to get me into it, but give me football any day still impressive as fook when you see them live though

See what you meant about the Shamrock/Ortiz fight. We all felt cheated tbh.

thought the ref was a bit hasty to step in but when you see the replays ortiz would have just kept pounding him with those elbows

can someone clarify this for me please. re one of the rules of UFC.
Am I right in thinking that when you're on top of your opponent you can't hit them directly with your elbows in a downward motion? You can only hit them with your forearms? Or is it something like that?

Arlovski v Sylvia was a boring fight apart from a couple of good punches.
To quote the commentator, was more a kickboxing match than a UFC match.

na you are allowed to hit them with elbows, forarms ect, the reason the ortiz fight was stopped is shamrock was deemed to be "not intelegently defending himself"
as soon as, the ref thinks your not defending your self the fight is stopped.
in shamrocks case he dropped his guard so the ref stopped it.

the whole show was crap apart from edwards v stevenson (?)
very disappointing.
i look forward to arlovski usually, but his last two have been shit. sylvia just doesn't look like he should be able to beat him.
at least chuck is fighting the next show which should make it more interesting; but the theatrical shit they've started doing is crap.
making the whole thing more like manufactured WWF bollocks.

totally agree with Myke..
they are going a bit WWF now, which can never be a good thing.
but LIDDELL VS. SOBRAL will be a great fight.. *fingers drossed*
