I went about 4 years ago - stayed in the Sol Elite (I think thats what it was called) right on the waterfront in Playa. Was the nicest hotel in the resort. Tbh...i'd stay clear of Playa De Las americas..its a shoot hole.

Well..it was really really tacky and most of the bars had a major cockroach problem - like thdem crawling all over the walls while you sit having a drink! Lack of atmosphere, scruffy, dirty. Not very impressive. I know for a fact that most of the "Veronicas strip" in playa De Las Americas was shut down about 5 years ago due to drug problems, and was refurbed and then reopened, but when we went it wasn't great. The hotel was great..but thats all I can say. I have also been to Magaluf twice and that was far better, but that was 6 years ago.

yeah it is nice, stayed there in october. it's got its own enclosed ouside pool area.
about 20m from the sea, 200m either way and you've got beaches.
you're about 5 minutes walk from the main strip if that's where you're wanting to go out. to get there you walk down the main road which is just full of bars and restaurants.
it's far enough away though that if you don't feel like going out you won't be kept up all night by loud music and drunken people lol

Sol Elite is slap bang next to Veronicas strip. So if you are going for nighlife then you are spitting distance away, but if you want a quiet night you may be kept up by the music. Its got good facilities and a nice pool. Foods good too, and when I was there the rooms were basic, but very clean etc.

I went to turkey a couple of years ago...I was impressed as i wasn't expecting much. Stayed in Marmaris...really nice hotel...can't remember the name but food and drink is great and dirt cheap. Three course meal for two with drinks costs about 10-15 quid!

We were at compostella beach club 3 im sure last year. it sits right on a golf course. It was really clean we found and jst an all round nice place.
If you're going half board or all inclusive then there is a buffet for breakfast lunch and tea and the food was always good with themed nights every so often (chinese, indian etc..)
Staff were excellent when we were there also.
Its a 5-10 minute walk to get into the centre/strip along the side of the golf course or there are always taxis parked up outside the hotel ready and waiting.
At night if u dont fancy goin out as we didnt sometimes there is a nice bar and theres half decent shows etc put on.
Hope this helps
Chris.

Two top hotels there are the 'Bitacora' & the 'Volcano'. Both very nice hotels.
'Island Village' is another good'un and is located across the road from the huge water park there

Im off in September for 2 weeks, just next to Las Americas in a place called Los Christianos.... IMO this is the best move as its more classy and you can walk down to the harbour and then into Las Americas and back out that night
Can't wait not not been back in 3 years now, this will be my 26th time
