Bumped a nissan micra today. Not much damage just front bumper dinted and front wing above arch has a dint both at the driver corner

both about the size of the palm of a hand.

person who owned it said do i wana go thru insuarnce or just sort it out privately, so i said privately... hes gona get it to garage and then give me the receipt

How much do people think this would cost to repair? Can the black bumper be pushed back out quite easily? Not sure about the wing as the paint may crack... Any guesses?

The people who own this nissan micra well lets say i would have trouble trusting them to give me the real price so im just preparing myself for the worst... pretty pissed off like.

He gave me his number but my phone hasnt saved it and the carhas gone was gona say i would get the 2 parts needed and give them to him to fit and give him another £40 or so for the trouble.

prepare for the worst...

same happended to me some time back..only some paint flaked and a scratch of 1-2 inch on an MG S reg rear bumper......decided to get it sorted privately...quote from garage: £540

phoned my insurance and explained the facts...no worries

no doubt they will get all the wee dinks and scrapes on car fixed and tell the garage just to put accident damage on receipt

My dad reversed into a clapped out montego estate last year. He couldnt see any damage at first, then noticed that the indicator was cracked so he left a note with his details etc. Next think he knew he had a letter from his insurance company saying they had been billed over £1200 for new panel, light, bumper and full side respray!!

Most people will do it...they will get the whole car repaired...

breakdown of my quote:

new bumper: 210
rear bumoer irons: 54
paint: 85
labour: 145
+VAT

and 3 day hiring at car at £40/day

oh I think it was ~£640...sorry



she sent the quote with this message:

'Let me know what you will do hun'...

Well, hun got bitter and went through insurance
