I dont think so, the fee has to go with the details that your sending to the passport office....

You pay like an extra fiver or something to get the Post Office to check it for you to avoid it coming back with problems.

i will just write a cheque for passport company and ask at post office if i can pay them.

iirc you can pay at the post office, they check everything there and then for about £10 more and you keep your old passport which gets cancelled and the new one arrives in 7-10 days

this will be my 3rd passport now, still got my 1st and its got a triangle cut off the back.

all sorted now, cost me £58 at post office.
£51 for renewing and £7 for checking and postage with a 2 week turnaround.
