tbh, i aint looking to get a fast super dooper car, i have just moved into a new house and dont need high petrol bills.

I was thinking of something like a black 3 series bmw or something. but for 10k, it would come with about 30-40k miles.

any recommendations?

Audi A3/VW Golf TDi

With change for a nice set of 18s and lowered suspension

If you want style then why are you looking at BMWs

i was looking at a black one of these:

50k miles, 02 plate for 9k.
are you saying an Audi A3 or golf diesel has more class than this?

for 10k i would look at a mk4 astra gsi/ coupe turbo or a honda accord type r with plenty of change left over

bart those bmws are awful, and none of the new german cars for 9k are exactly 'classy' are they.

An A3 does yes. I just feel that BMWs are bland inside and out

You use 25 quid a week when you live so close to work? Madness!

A mate of mine has a mint A3 1.8 T for sale. Up for about 11k I think

The current 3 series is very bland, aernt they all in the shite section on the cool wall? must be there for a reason.

personally i think an astra couple is much more stylish.

but for 9/10k the A3s are all the old shape and look even more bland, small and poo than the bmw above?

i cant see it myself.

bart if you want a bmw then look at these: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/79146.htm
i know its nearly a grand over budget but you can get a nice 330ci for 10k. my mate works for bmw and has a 330cd and they are nice cars, but it certainly wont make you feel like your a 'class' above most other road users if thats what you want

to me that does look nice mk4.

Astra coupe wouldnt be too bad. but spending that much money on a vauxhall seems like a waste :-s

this astra coupe does look nice, but i dont think i can be dealing with the lowness of it all again, repairing broke bumpers

*edit* Opinions?

well if i had 10k then i would be leaning more towards a 330ci as they look just as nice as the astra coupes but are slightly quicker and sound nicer aswell. if you dont mind a 2.5l engine then you could get a better equipped 3 series like this: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/84879.htm
