Whilst mowing the lawn this afternoon I heard a "CRASH!", wondering what it was I turned around, and to my horror I saw the below picture on my patio, it was my tortoise, he had gotten caught up in the lawnmower's cable, probably been lifted up, fallen and broken himself into a few pieces.
I was heartbroken!
Please don't look at the picture if you are squeemish!

It wasn't all in vain though, as my mum broke him up into smaller pieces and used him to put in the bottom of plant pots etc etc

EDIT: I'm suspecting suicide as I had heard rumours that he was jealous of the two big porcelin frogs in the opposite corner of the garden

I was skim reading that, and thought you'd blitzed your tortoise with a lawnmower.
You got mean since you've had lazers shot in your eyes

Excellent! New avatar found!
Today the porcelin frogs were looking round (for the tortoise I pressume), they seem quite happy about his demise, I think they might be upto something
I mean - how guilty do these guys look?

Could have glued him Jules.
That said, I fully expect you to have lasered him back together by dinner time tomorrow.

it's gone past that point I'm afraid, he's now in several small parts and it doing as stirling job of helping drain soil (or something) in various plant pots - his death wasn't in vain!

So glad to hear your op went so well btw.
Money well spent indeed. I've always felt sight to be the paramount one of all the senses if I had to choose.
Life's far too short to contend with shite eye sight if you can afford otherwise Jules.
