hello all

nearing the end of my c20xe conversion. got the engine and mounts and the whole lot really off mike16v (top lad!) and it was pretty much straigh forward. really enjoyed doing it and she is booked in 4 the paint job on sat. but i need a bit more help to get me on the road.

i do belive mike had his car running fine when he had it in, then me and him took it out and there ya go. so its been pretty straight forward 4 me with the wiring as the llom has already been in a corsa (and i belive lee did the wiring for him, not sure though!) so im presuming its all fine and correct.

its all plugged in, every plug on the engine.
i have 2 earths going 2 the batery, one from the interior loom near the grommet, and one comming out of a small loom, that also has the reverse sensor on it.
2 posotives, one from the starter, and one from the loom that is near the speedo grommet, and comes from inside the corsa.
also from that same loom, 3 wires come off, a red.black, blue/white, and a blue/green, these have all been soldered colour 4 colour to the corresponding ones on the corsa starter loom.
i have checked with a multimeter, when the ignition is on 12v is going 2 the starter.
and the wiring inside the footwell is all colour 4 colour, bar the 4 that dont match
but i noticed that when i took the tape off the loom (in between astra ecu big plug, and soldered on corsa 9 pin plug, where all the connections are) there is a red wire, that had been cut, and checked with a multimeter, there is 12 going 2 that.

turn the iginition on and battery light and oil comes on (note: no eml?)
go 2 fire her up and there is nothing, completly dead. kinda as if im missing something really big and obvious. do i have enough posotives and earths? is my starter wiring correct? am i missing something as it was an spi 8v before, like a relay? but its wiered, not a hint of anything when the key is turned full, almost as if there is no power? but like i said there is 12v going 2 the starter, but i dont know what it is that tells the starter 2 turn? is that the ecu? and does that mean its not being powered correctly!?

hope you can help guys n get me on the road!

(note: when you turn the key 2, you can her the faintest of murmers from the fuel pump, almost as if its priming up, but its a very weak noise, maybe just woking, but it aint got the spark 2 go with it!)

im unsure if its this thin black wire thats been talked about, the only thing is, i cant seem 2 find it?? hmmm....

ttt, hope u sort it chris, id love to help u out mate but as i said to u before, i can do everythin but wire the bloody thing! i really need to learn electrics

he he, wel im gettin there! it seems it was wired fine from the start!

just didnt have any earth starts from the engine 2 car! put one on now from gearbox 2 inner wing! and it trys 2 turn over now but after a few turns the strat is roasting!

so im guessing i need a few more straps, n a bit bigger gauge as it cant deal with the current???
