Theres a stats site somewhere that has CS listed, most online members at any one point was 186 or something.

There's no upper limit, we'll keep serving as long as people keep coming. Most ever was 483 which I think was after one of the national things, about 6-7pm at night is busiest time.
The stats page is on Big Boards, but we don't have their tracker so we don't get their extended stats.

Cant you look and see when that was Ian? Something thats kept me curious for a while that is! Other sites have that stat. on their site and tells you when it was.

No the forum came in August 99. Before then it was just email and putting people in touch through posting questions and answers manually to the pages on the site. That was when there was only a few per week, not 10 a minute
