Doesn't have any form of cover but as you say you have proof of postage? Is this a receipt or what?

I think most users on here would be able to honestly say you're a honest guy, my item arrived fine and in time with no problems.

As far as i can see you've done your part but then again it's up to you how you wish to resolve it...

Perhaps the item has been lost on its travels..

Or watching a documentary not so long ago about the royal mail people pinching valuable objects this could have happened if the item looked like it was worth a lot of money...

You have proof that you had sent of the item so its out of your hands now really..

some buyers I had on ebay used to do this:

They ask for normal 1st class to be sent, they receive the item but still claim they didn't reveice it...how dishonest (though I am not claiming this for current matter )

For peace of mind, always send at least recorded and ask buyer to pay for it (i did )

Should take this as a lesson and send recorded in future.

I can't see why it's a big deal to send recorded, as you can get the buyer to foot the cost anyway.

what is the thing you have sold?

I had a random parcel turn up at the weekend that I haven't ordered or paid for.

If he didn't request registered or even recorded delivery then imo it's at his risk, you can't be held liable for any loss/damage in the post.
