Had another crash, only had my new car two weeks

Power steering went, was doing about 70, braked and the brakes locked up and spun a few times and hit an island and fucked up my wheel and body work, and the gearbox is fucked, bottom arm, drive shaft and track rod end Gonna get it fixed up at a garage but can see it costing alot, needs respraying as well i think, how much do you reckon to do it without doing through insurance?

The peugeot wheels come with the car i wanted to change them anways but will deffo have to now

PAS dying wont make you lose control, just make the steering go heavy

yeah - it's worse on cars designed to have PAS - much heavier than a car like a 1.2 corsa b with no PAS as standard.

yes but you neednt brake to lock the wheels up if it goes, the car is definatly still steerable (if thats a word) could just brake slowly or coasted to a stop

IMO, the slightest little thing that your not used to happening can cause an accident. I dare say she's never had PAS failing before, so it's not strange to me that its caused a bit of an accident...

like she said, panicking = braking harder

car just been lowered, so the brake bias valve will be going mental, so probably why the rears locked up...

just coincidential that it happened the way it did... non-related, just the timing of all I suppose...

It is deffo fucked, only has 3rd and 4th gear, its because the car hit the islad going backwards, and one of the bars has bent into the gearbox, it hasnt been locked at properly by a garage yet so could be worse problems like a bent chasis , clutch got burnt out when trying to get it on the tow truck trailer, and then they ripped the bottom thing off the bumper because with the front being lowered it was hard to get it up the ramp
