was going along a bit of road which was two lanes, i was in the first lane behind and ambulance doing 39mph, it was a 40mph road, got bored of being stuck behind it so droped it down to 4th gear and pulled out into the second lane and started to over take, as i get to the side of him, i notice on my left on the grass verge is two police men, one had a radar gun, by this time i was doing 60mph, dont think he had it pointed at me as i was at the side of the ambulance so he couldnt see me until i got to them,

but iam just wondering, do they have to pull you over there or then and can they send you the points and fine through the post,

You are the trainee policeman right?

My understanding was that in 'most' cases they had to pull you over down the road....but if the BIB were busy 'pulling over' somebody else down the road, then the offense would still stand if it was a video camera.

I could be wrong, but i know of quite a few people that havent been stopped and still got a NIP

Would need to be a video gun.

But if they are just standing at the side of the road it will only be a radar gun reading speed only. In thoery they could sent a NIP by post within 28 days, but this never happens

You're joking right?

My girfl 'gave' her car to a 'mate' who is a car dealer to sell it for her.

We/her had two NIPs six weeks later and then a tax violation and another speeding offence from a hand held.

It took me forever to convince the dvla and police it wasn't her car anymore...even after it was reported stolen the police still turned up and gave us grief.

Stressed me right out tbh....and didn't do the bib any favours in my belief of the justice system

14 days with 2-3 days grace for postage for a NIP through the post. Anytime after that I wouldn't worry about it.

So from the time of the offence is it 14 or 28 days you have until you should have received something in the post?

That was a bit silly then, a sharp bend and in a 30 limit?
